NEW FICTION BOOKS AT ELHT LIBRARIES

If you want to put your feet up and read a good book why not call in to the library?

There are plenty to choose from in our new and updated fiction and leisure collection.

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in winning a bid from the Health Care Libraries Unit (HCLU) to enhance our fiction/leisure collection at the Learning Centre Library, RBH and Mackenzie Healthcare Library, BGH

We have just taken delivery of over 200 brand new fiction books including some 2009 bestsellers and award winners.

We have also purchased a small selection of books within the following areas:

• Lifestyle
• Computers
• Management

We are also taking part in the Six Book Challenge in the workplace.

This scheme invites less confident readers to read six books such as the Quick Reads and record their reading in a diary.

They are supported with incentives and rewarded with a certificate when they complete the challenge.

Anyone who worls for the Trust can join the library - just call in with your Trust ID badge.

Wellcome's Image Library

Historical and contemporary images from the Wellcome Library's collections are now freely available for downloading.

The constantly updated biomedical collection holds over 40,000 images and covers disease, surgery, general healthcare, sciences from genetics to neuroscience.

You can register for free to use the lightbox feature which allows you to store selections of images during different visits to the site and allows you to order images online. By registering you will also have access to clinical images.

The images have been made available through a creative commons licence to allow them to be used for non commercial purposes.
